Love In a Cold Climate
Love In a Cold Climate by Nancy Mitford
This is a funny book. Laugh out Loud at times.
Set about 1930 something, Fanny tells of the lives of her cousins (Jassie and Victoria), Uncle Matthew, Aunt Sadie; and her neighbours Polly (beautiful beyond description and extremely self-centred), her mother Lady Montdore (dreadfully selfish and self-centred), Lord Montdore and Boy. Fanny keeps up a very amusing, understated commentary on their goings on. There is a plot but it is of very minor import – just something to hang the goings-on on. Very well written and structured. It does appear to be somewhat autobiographical. Funny. Recommended.
