I am Angelina

I am Angelina, a wonderful tea/chocolate room at 26 rue de Rivoli in Paris.

Much more than a simple patisserie or tearoom, I am a luxury brand with a prestigious image that symbolises the “French Way of Life”.

The Austrian confectioner Antoine Rumpelmayer established Angelina and named me named after his daughter-in-law, in 1903. For over a century, the Angelina tearoom has established itself as a high point of Parisian gourmet pleasures. Angelina became a must-not-miss venue for the Parisian aristocracy.

In my rooms were to be found, Proust, Coco Chanel and the greatest French fashion designers.

Locals and visitors alike line up at this beautiful salon, which serves the most famous hot chocolate in the word, ie chocolate African. Each rich pitcher of chocolate is brought to the table on a silver platter accompanied by a rosette of whipped cream. The ceremony is as important as the drink.

One classic accompaniment is the Mont Blanc. This absolute must cake is a wonder combining meringue, light whipped cream and chestnut cream vermicelli for the delight of your taste buds. Up to 600 are sold every day in the historical tearoom!

The decor was designed by the famous Belle Epoque architect, Edouard-Jean Niermans, and combines elegance, charm and refinement. Angelina is a genuine romantic poem, a quiet and voluptuous venue, between serenity and gourmet pleasure.
